Living in Freedom

You’ve probably heard the saying, “Don’t believe everything you hear.”

This advice is more crucial than ever in today’s world, where misinformation, deepfakes, and distorted facts are rampant online. The prevalence of these deceptive practices is not just disappointing—it’s downright dangerous.

Protect Your Heart

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23, NIV

It is commonplace for most law enforcement personnel today to wear bulletproof vests during their duty hours. While these vests typically consist of durable synthetic materials, military personnel often deploy vests fortified by metal or ceramic plates for added protection in combat scenarios.

Inspired

Do you believe the Bible is entirely and unequivocally inspired by God? I do. I also believe God has given it to us to align our beliefs, attitudes, and actions with it. Do you? People have always attempted to pick the Scriptures apart and choose what they will believe, usually according to their personal preferences. But the Christian faith is unsustainable if it is arbitrary and unanchored, floating along according to what any one person or group wants to believe. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Paul wanted to be sure Timothy understood that all of Scripture is useful as we train ourselves in righteousness and for service in God’s Kingdom. Like Paul, I encourage you to make God’s Word the sole authority for your life. It will never change, and it will never lead you astray.

Satan’s minions are more aware of God’s reality than most people are, yet the demons are not right with God.

The Core of a Crowd

A crowd in motion is a pretty remarkable thing. Pedestrians walking down a sidewalk in opposite directions usually manage not to bump into each other. Crowds are a condition of urban life. On subways and sidewalks, in elevators and stores, we pass in and out of them throughout the day, without pausing to consider by what mechanisms our brains guide us through so smoothly, rarely touching so much as a stranger’s shoulder. Crowds are a necessary inconvenience of city living. Still, there are occasions when we gladly join them, pressing together at social gatherings, concerts, sporting events, victory parades, and of course, big sales.

Can Christmas Make it Better?

This Christmas, you and I face a very different and unsettled world, one of upheaval, the likes of which we as a generation have not witnessed in recent history. So between us, I’m not going to insult you by sprinkling a few holiday catchphrases on the whole mess and pretending it’s all gingerbread houses and candy cane lanes. Strangely enough, the chaos and uncertainty of this year might suggest, if we’re willing to dig beyond the easy slogans and cultural façades and ask the question on everyone’s mind. Does Christmas hold the answer? The answer is an unequivocal YES!!!! – You bet it does!
